I was home for the holidays, and while I was there I took the opportunity to shoot my dad’s garden. Obviously this time of year, the garden is pretty well dead and the frost on the plants resulted in some beautiful colors and textures. I’m in the process of going through a selection of winter garden photos, along with some of the other shots that I took while I was home which I will be posting this week (hopefully). Shown here is the first of the batch.
Incidentally, I’m in my ongoing attempt to build some better habits and a workflow for my photography, I’ve started to explore Flickr, about 100 years after everyone else on the planet. For those of you with RSS feeds, you may see some weird, nonexistent or duplicate posts while I work out the kinks.
Update: There are too many elements that I can’t control via the Flickr blog posting thing, so likely I’ll be doing it the old fashioned way moving forward. If anyone has any tricks for posting from Flickr, let me know.
That swiss chard looks amazing. I’m going to stop by over new years and steal some out of the garden.
If you think it’s edible, go ahead and swing by my parent’s house – They’d happily hook you up.
This wouldn’t be the garden on Simpson Street would it?
This wouldn’t be Jon from good ol’ M-burg would it?
