Figuring out a way to display photography is a study in frustration for me. As a shooter who trends towards vertical composition, the horizontal space of a computer monitor has been a major sticking point to finding the best layout for my portfolio. Additionally, I didn’t want to be bound to clunky and non-accessable methods that many photographers use, like flash-based sites.
In the end, I chose a horizontal layout that lends itself to displaying images composed in landscape, as well as two or more vertical images. The site is designed using Wordpress, which is a wonderful, free tool that is essential not only to bloggers but to anyone who publishes content on the web.
